Being I live in upstate New York, I have a lot of golf courses to choose from.

My personal favorite course is Battenkill Country Club, located in Greenwich off of route 29. The course is a mix of par 3's 4's and 5's and is quite challenging. Fairways range in width from 50 yards to 50 feet on some holes. The greens are usually fast and are fairly flat, except for the 5th hole and the 9th hole. You can play 18 here, but I just play 9. The bargain is unbeatable with a price of only $5 for children through teens, and $13 for adults. It is an extremely beautiful course; right on the banks of the Battenkill River, and below the Battenkill River Dam for a great playing scenery. Golfcourse.com rated it a 4.5 out of 5, but I rate it a 5.

Another great course in upstate New York is the Brookhaven Country Club. This is a fairly challenging course with most of the holes being dog-leg lefts and rights. Watch out for hole 18 though with a huge pond you have to cross to get on the green! I shot my personal best here for an 18 holer with a score of 84 on a par 72. This is a very peaceful course with the sounds of fountains and birds singing, and a great scenery, located on the foothills of the Adirondacks. I'd rate this course a 5 out of 5 also.

Windy Hills Golf Course is another good course. It's located on an interesting location though; through an airstrip. I think it's kind of cool watching small planes take off and land while playing golf. The course itself is challenging with slim fairways and tough greens. Most of the holes are straight though, which helps out a little. I've only been here once so I can't really say much about it. I rate it a 4.5 out of 5.

Most of you probably know about the Disney Golf Courses. I personally have never been to these courses, but it is on my "to golf" list. I've heard that it's like a golf heaven, with all sorts of holes; long short, wide, skinny, uphill, downhill, dog-leg left, dog-leg right. Their sopposed to have it all.

Okemo Valley Golf Club is one of my favorites. Located just outside of Okemo's major ski resort in Ludlow Vermont, it has a great scenery. With well-carved, deep bunkers, and perfectly cut farways and greens, it's like a pro course. Make sure you bring your cash though, it's mad expensive. It's well worth it though. Of course, this course goes in my memory bank for the remainder of my life. I rate this course a 10 out of 5.
